Burning Man Project — Honoraria Art Grants
Annual grants averaging $1.3 million total to fund large-scale art installations for Black Rock City (near Reno/Gerlach). 2026 funded 75 projects. Year-round community arts grants also available. City of Reno — Small Walls Pilot Program (Muralists)

City of Reno — 2% for Art Ordinance

Annual multi-day international fine art fair held each September. Features world-class galleries and independent artists, and is one of the largest indoor sculpture presentations in the nation. Includes a Post Playa Art Feature, First Nations pavilion, museum exhibits, film, and talks. 2025 was the 4th edition with 140,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space. Latimer Art Club (LAC)

Carson Valley Art Studio Tour
Annual two-day studio tour in October across the Carson Valley (Minden/Gardnerville area). Visitors meet artists in their studios, see work in progress, and purchase original art.
Burning Man at Black Rock City
Location: Black Rock Desert, approximately 100 miles north of Reno (near Gerlach, NV) Annual late-August/early September event hosting nearly 400 art installations in a temporary city of 70,000+. Arguably the world's largest temporary outdoor art exhibition. Many Reno-area artists create work here. The Reno Generator in Sparks is the primary local art production hub for Burning Man projects.
Reno Neon Line Sculpture District
Location: Downtown Reno (4th Street Brewery District and along the Truckee River) Permanent outdoor collection of large-scale art installations, many originating from Burning Man. Western Folklife Center

Latimer Art Club (LAC)
Nevada's oldest art club, established 1921 by students of painter Lorenzo P. Latimer. 501(c)(7) nonprofit promoting fine arts in multiple mediums. Monthly meetings with demonstrations, Plein Air paint-outs April–October throughout Reno and the Sierra Nevada, and an Annual Juried Miniature Exhibition open to all Nevada artists 18+. Educational scholarships for young artists. The LAC was directly instrumental in founding the Nevada Museum of Art.
