Shots, lighting, composition & file quality

Clear, professional photos of your work are essential for selling anywhere — not only on ARTS District USA. Your buyers need to see exactly what they're purchasing — from the overall composition to the fine details of brushwork and texture.

The Six Shots You Need

📷Straight-on frontal (fills the frame)
🔍Detail close-up #1 (key element or texture)
🔍Detail close-up #2 (another area of interest)
🔍Detail close-up #3 (signature or special technique)
📐45-degree angle shot (shows depth and canvas texture)
🖼️Back-of-canvas or back-of-frame photo
LIGHTING
  • ·Use natural light. Shoot outdoors on overcast days or near a large window.
  • ·Avoid harsh shadows and direct sunlight.
  • ·Never use on-camera flash.
COMPOSITION
  • ·Make the artwork fill 80–90% of the frame. No background clutter.
  • ·Shoot straight-on for the main photo using a tripod or level.
  • ·For detail shots, zoom in on interesting elements.
COLOR ACCURACY
