The Wheel Keeps Turning

A photographic collage by Annie Bates-Winship that pulls the eye into a spiraling vortex of orange, electric blue, rich crimson and earthy green. Interior scenes, domestic fragments, patterned textiles and checkerboard bands are flung into orbit around a dark, magnetic centre, creating a visual experience that is at once intimate and expansive. It is bold, kinetic and impossible to ignore on any wall. The layering of photographs into a swirling, eye-shaped form transforms the everyday into something transcendent, and every new viewing reveals another detail hidden within its spiraling depths.
