Somewhere beneath the high desert of the American Southwest, someone climbed this ladder every day. They felt the rungs under their hands, ducked through the hatch above, and emerged into open sky. The kiva — circular, sacred, built from the earth itself — was a place of gathering, ceremony, and continuity. Daniel Sidoli steps into that space and does what he has spent decades learning to do: he listens to a place until it tells him where to stand. The light here does all the storytelling. It falls through the ceiling hatch in a soft, deliberate pour, illuminating the ladder and the rough-hewn vigas above, leaving the far corners in a warm, enveloping shadow that feels protective rather than dark. The adobe walls glow with the particular terracotta warmth of sun-baked earth — the same palette his own family's craftsmen would have recognized in clay and pigment. There is a quiet dignity in this interior that transcends the centuries between its builders and the man behind the lens. PRINTS Each color image is digitally printed using premium quality resin coated pearlessence paper, facemounted to acrylic and professionally framed. The lamination and acrylic is a 98% UV inhibitor and is rated at 120 years of UV protection and guaranteed not to fade. They can be produced at different sizes as a recess frame, or floating frame, or as a traditional wood frames are available upon request. Wood frames require additional charges.
