Old Car

Bold, fearless, and unmistakably Southwest — this electrifying nocturnal landscape by Marin artist John Beuttler commands every wall it inhabits. Massive canyon formations surge upward in rich crimson and burnt sienna, locked in dramatic tension against a deep cobalt sky ablaze with golden stars and a glowing crescent moon. The graphic intensity is visceral, the color choices audacious — this is not a painting that whispers. Beuttler's decades of creative experience — from the San Francisco Art Institute to eleven major Hollywood films — converge here in a work that pulses with cinematic energy and painterly authority. The bold black contours and flat planes of saturated color recall the graphic dynamism of a master printmaker, yet the piece retains the raw, spontaneous vitality of an artist deeply connected to the land he paints. For the discerning collector, this is a rare opportunity to own a signature piece from an artist whose career spans fine art, film, and visual storytelling at the highest level. It is investment-worthy, conversation-starting, and utterly singular — a desert night frozen at its most mythic and magnificent.
