There is something deeply human about wrapping the most dangerous thing you can imagine in the language of fragility. Rocky Asbury's grenade sculpture doesn't arrive with a warning — it IS the warning. Every label reads 'Handle With Care.' Every sticker says 'Fragile.' And yet here it is: a grenade. The juxtaposition isn't accidental — it's the entire story. Rocky has always believed that art lives in the world hiding in plain sight — in a weathered sign, a colorful label, an everyday object reimagined. Here, the humble shipping sticker becomes armor, wrapping something lethal in the language of tenderness. It asks the question we so rarely pause to ask: What if the most dangerous things in our lives are also the most fragile? What if power and vulnerability aren't opposites — but the same thing dressed differently? Created in 2024, this sculpture carries the same beautifully messy energy that defines Rocky's canvases — raw, layered, and alive with meaning. The blue graffiti splatter on the lever nods to his street art roots, the black ties binding the labels feel urgent and handmade, and the whole piece sits on its pedestal like it has something to say and isn't leaving until you've heard it.
