Roswell Tina Farrow was born in a town that looked up at the sky and wondered. Decades later, standing in her Las Vegas studio surrounded by chrome scraps, resin pours, and the constant hum of the desert city outside, she still does. Purple Splash is the piece that came from that wondering — a meditation on what it feels like to stand at the center of something vast and luminous, rays shooting outward in every direction like the very moment of contact. The starburst at its heart is not just a mid-century motif; for Roswell it is a personal symbol — the alien signal, the atomic moment, the Googie diner sign spinning above a highway at dusk. She built the sculptural center from the inside out: the glowing magenta orb first, then the chrome orbital rings, then the white-tipped rays reaching toward the panel's edges as if they cannot contain themselves. The deep plum background — alive with glitter suspended in resin — became a universe for that star to inhabit, its floating rectangular shapes the ghost-echoes of neon signs and retro TV screens half-remembered from a childhood spent moving through the American West. To stand in front of Purple Splash is to feel the pull of both nostalgia and possibility at once. It is Roswell at her most herself: experimenting, reaching, never quite landing — and making that restlessness the most beautiful thing in the room.
