Blue Repose

Oil, graphite and pastel on canvas by painter Shanna Bruschi. The composition presents an expansive, abstracted sky-and-landscape in a vertical format, dominated by a large cloud-form in warm ochre, raw umber, and pale lemon yellow set against a luminous cerulean ground. A narrow, charged horizon band of deep umber, burnt sienna, and electric yellow-green divides the sky from a cool periwinkle foreground wash. Mood is simultaneously atmospheric and energetic — expansive, luminous, and grounded.
