Lost horizons I

Acrylic on plexiglass and reclaimed wood by painter Shanna Bruschi. Accents of muted sage green and pale yellow animate the surface. The lower element — a single wide plank of warm walnut-toned wood — provides a grounding counterpoint, its natural grain mirroring the gestural horizontality of the painted field above. Abstract, atmospheric, and formally inventive; mood is immersive and contemplative with an undercurrent of energy.
