Nonna

Oil and mixed media by painter Shanna Bruschi, featuring two abstracted figures — an adult and a young child — seen from behind, moving through a richly textured deep violet and burgundy atmospheric ground. A bold horizontal band of cadmium red anchors the lower edge, creating a stark, luminous contrast against the cool purple field. The mood is simultaneously intimate and dramatic — tender in subject, powerful in execution. A strong example of her abstracted figurative work.
