Upswing

Acrylic, graphite and collage on canvas by painter Shanna Bruschi, executed in a bold palette of jet black, pure white, and electric ultramarine blue. The stark tonal contrast between black and white is punctuated by a decisive arc of cobalt blue that anchors the lower canvas, lending the piece both visual drama and emotional focus. The surface is richly physical, with visible layering, scraping, and directional brushwork characteristic of Bruschi's rhythm-driven studio practice. Mood: powerful, dramatic, and intensely kinetic.
