Purple Reverie

The composition moves from a pale ash-white ground at the periphery into a turbulent core of layered dusty mauve, deep aubergine, crimson, and burnt saffron, punctuated throughout by energetic white chalk and charcoal line work that suggests semi-figurative forms without resolving into literal imagery. Mood is simultaneously dramatic and contemplative, with a luminous interior quality driven by the contrast of the pale ground against the dark, fire-lit center.
