The Dancer

Charcoal on canvas by Marin painter Shanna Bruschi, featuring an abstracted female dancer rendered in deep charcoal and grey tones against a richly textured, multi-layered background of ash lavender, crimson, powder blue, and raw white. The figure occupies the left-center of the composition in a poised, dynamic pose — arm extended, leg lifted — while the surrounding field dissolves into expressive abstract marks and color passages. Mood is simultaneously contemplative and energetic, balancing figurative precision with abstract freedom.
