Beats Meets El Pulpo!

This is Sherri Lynn Carroll at full power — a blazing, visionary canvas that pulls you into a world where fire, machine, and human fragility collide in gorgeous, unsettling harmony. At the center, a luminous blue-skinned woman presses her hands to her ears, her bindi-marked face serene yet overwhelmed, flanked by two hat-wearing figures who loom like forces of fate. Behind them all, a massive golden mechanical creature rises from a tangle of kelp and nautilus blooms, fire columns erupting on either side like the world itself is announcing something enormous. The composition commands a room. Carroll's signature Lively Vortex energy is everywhere here — in the spiraling seaweed that breathes like it's alive, in the orange-eyed sea creatures scattered like sentinels through the undergrowth, in the way firelight and deep-ocean cool exist in the same breath. Her photorealist training gives every surface a tactile weight: the robot's riveted bronze body, the soft brim of a cowboy hat, the iridescent shimmer of a woman who might be goddess, mermaid, or dreamer. This is not decoration. This is myth-making in acrylic. For collectors seeking a centerpiece that demands conversation, this painting delivers on every level. It is large in feeling, dense with symbol, and impossible to exhaust — the kind of work that reveals new details on the tenth viewing. An original Carroll surrealist figurative piece of this complexity and narrative ambition is a rare find, and a genuine investment in one of Hawaii's most distinctive and prolific visionary voices.
