Songs for Frogs

This is Sherri Lynn Carroll at full velocity — a canvas that roars with color, culture, and creature magic. A hand-painted didgeridoo, adorned with intricate Indigenous-style gecko motifs in dotwork and line, slices diagonally across a swirling vortex of cobalt, gold, and flame. Perched on the bell of the instrument like a tiny sovereign, a vivid poison dart frog commands attention — bold black and yellow, rendered with the photorealistic precision that underpins all of Sherri's most exuberant work. Plumeria blossoms drift like offerings through the blue spiral below, grounding the cosmic energy in something sweet and tropical. This painting is a collector's convergence point — world music, Pacific Island flora, tropical wildlife, and surrealist energy all locked into a single swirling composition. Every brushstroke in the vortex background moves with intention, pulling the eye in and then releasing it outward in a burst of yellow fire. This is a painting that commands a wall and holds a room. Original acrylics from Lively Vortex don't sit quietly — they perform. As Sherri's reputation grows from Mendocino County muralist to Oahu studio painter, original works like this one represent exceptional early-collector value. Rich in detail, layered in meaning, and alive with the kind of joyful strangeness that defines her entire body of work, this piece is a singular acquisition.
