We Are Each of Us Angels

This breathtaking original acrylic by Sherri Lynn Carroll explodes with the same vivid, surreal energy that defines her Lively Vortex studio. Two winged beings — part human, part something altogether beyond — collide in a fierce and tender embrace against a luminous tropical teal sky, their dark feathered wings spreading wide while crimson branch-like forms burst outward like living fire. The rendering is technically masterful: Sherri's decades of photorealistic watercolor training pulse beneath every brushstroke, giving the flesh, feathers, and flowing fabric a sculptural weight that pulls you straight into the canvas. This is a collector-caliber piece that sits confidently at the intersection of surrealism and romantic figurative art — the kind of work that commands a wall and holds it. The sweeping teal background, the warm peach and blush drapery, and those electric red coral branches create a color harmony that is simultaneously lush and unsettling, joyful and urgent. It is impossible to look away from the hands — gripping, cradling, holding on — because Sherri has always understood that the truest magic lives in the details. For collectors drawn to bold surrealist narrative, to works that carry both technical excellence and raw emotional charge, this painting is a singular acquisition. It pairs the mythological weight of a Renaissance encounter with the vivid, stranger-kinder vision that makes Sherri Carroll's world entirely her own.
