Orange and gold flowers bursting open as if the plant has been holding its breath all year and finally, gloriously, lets go. Sue Averell has always been drawn to the places where toughness and beauty collide — the gritty streets of San Francisco, the lush abundance of Thailand, the granite landscapes of India.
