Where the Blush Horizon Dissolves is the gentlest of Tim Burns' seascapes. A pale pink sky fades into a soft band of blue-grey at the horizon, and below it a vast, still expanse of lavender-silver water stretches to the bottom of the frame. There is almost nothing here, and that is the magic. As one of his Rothko Seascapes, the work shows how sun, sea and sky dissolve into soft bands of color. The edges blur, the colors breathe into each other, and the image becomes a meditation rather than a view. It comes from Tim's long hours on the West Marin coast, watching light and fog shift over the water. The mood is tender, calm and dreamlike, one of his daytime dreamscapes. Behind acrylic glass the soft pastels take on a luminous depth. It is ideal for a bedroom, a nursery, a yoga room or any quiet space, and it works beautifully in light, airy interiors with white, cream and pale wood.
