Mystery I

There is a moment — every architect knows it — when a blueprint stops being lines on paper and becomes a building that breathes. Zorica Pavićević spent thirty years chasing that moment in concrete and steel. In Mystery I, she chases it in paint, and she finds it. The dark left half of the canvas is the world before understanding: dense, quiet, almost silent except for a scatter of small gold lights drifting upward like questions asked into the void. Then something shifts. A curved white spine — structural, inevitable — divides the surface and carries with it an eruption of yellow, green, silver, and fire.
